How do you give back?

How we have given back and ways of honoring our little angel Kiera.

We donated what we could of her, we were able to donate her lower extremities bone cartilage which can help some one walk again through gift of hope through Children's Memorial hospital.

Our friends and family have all donated a lot of money to the American Heart Association in her name and will continue to do so.

And I donated over 300 oz of frozen breast milk to a mothers milk bank to help out other premature babies.

I would much rather her be here, in my arms, seeing her smile and coo.

But since that is not possible I am trying to keep her living through other things.

Does anyone else have any other ideas of how we could give back?

Erin

  1. I have been following your blog since you started it (I am on the FF message boards and got to know you and your story there). My precious little girl is also named Kiera, and my heart breaks for you every single day that I say her name. I count my blessings every day and pray that you and your family will find peace.

As for giving back in another way, perhaps you could plant a tree in your yard or somewhere that is special to you in honor of your angel. It's a small thing, but it would be somewhere that you could watch life grow in her memory.

    Praying for you.

  2. I am so so sorry, I don't even know how to express it in words. What a loss, what a journey you have been through! I was thinking of old blogs I read and wanted to "check in" with you...and then I saw your beautiful little angel. Your in my prayers.

  3. Erin I just happened to stumble across your blog and I am so glad I did.
What a beautiful way of looking at donation - a way for your beautiful little girl to live on through the life of others.
You are clearly a loving and warm person and I wish you love and happiness for the future. I will send a wish out into the universe for you to become a mother once again. What a lucky child he/she will be!

Warm hugs all the way from Sydney!
